One big reason is the division in the community. There are now two PG tournament sites using the API. The number people playing tournaments haven't gone down as drastic as some people make it out to be. The numbers have just been divided is all. There's only so much time to play.

Do you mean the ladder site?

Player base simply is too small. Without a big marketing push this probably won't change in the future. That only 10% play a game they purchsed regularly isn't that uncommon. A look at steamspy shows that sells and regular players aren't nearly the same.

P.S.: I don't want to take anything away from anyone, but that we have two main tours right now (PGA and European) isn't that helpful for bigger fields as neither.

It looks amazing.  a few questions...

I'm currently working on my course on an iMac.

I'm under the impression that this will only work on a PC. (or be played on a PC?)

So do courses need to be created on a PC also?  Or can I continue work on the mac, but turf effects will run on a PC....or bootcamp mac

We have 2000+ different people who play PG each week even at this time of year which is notoriously bad for game participation. External sites will always get less play than in game tournaments and activities.

I will try and post more pics this week of the 3d grass and maybe some videos too.

An educated guess:  I believe, when it's time, PP Admin will dive into advertising online.  More fine tuning, animations etc. are needed before they make that kind of commitment.

The grass will be a Course Forge thing, so it shouldn't matter whether or not you build it on a Mac.  You'll just never see it in game because the Mac doesn't support DX.  You'd have to run a DX11 compat bootcamp I would think.  If there is such a thing.

Plus we have official tournaments to throw into the mix too and we will be adding more this coming week.

A couple of Tour Pro events would be greatly appreciated.... ;)

2000 are round about 10% of the sales number? Steamspy suggests so, although they might not be that accurate. I hope for you and your team that the sales so far reached an even higher number.

The dwindling participation at OGT is fact - i don't really understand why. The game gets better and better with each update.

I think both ZMax and I added some potential reasons in our posts above when you first asked the question. Participation on PG is definitely up over the last few weeks and we get more or less double the concurrent players that TGC gets.

Anyway I guess people looking in this thread want to see comments about 3d grass so let's let it get back on topic,

Not surprising.

The Goldentee Club hasn't been updated in about a year while they work on The Goldentee Club 2

We're working on big updates too including mo cap golfers, 3d grass, better lighting, career mode but we still keep updating the game in the meantime.

Anyways in regard to golf game sequels we've had waterfalls in PG since the first build, we've had multiple tees in PG since first build, we've had multiple flags in PG since first build, We've had tempo in our swing since first build, we've had multiple water levels in PG since first build etc etc

Yes sir!

That's why we are here (not there)!

And really - On a gameplay note.

There is simply no contest at this point in time.

It's amazing how great the PG gameplay is right now.

Multiple tees was a huge feature for simulator users.  3D grass will be super huge...:)

It's a shame you can't play PG anymore. You're missing out on some good stuff!

Ya, Mike banned me from playing JNPG because I like and play TGC ;). Just kidding :).

Unfortunately, my only laptop that can play JNPG died and I'm not currently in a position to replace it. :(

Back on topic -

Self drawn 3d grass along with what CF can do will be an awesome addition. In my humble opinion.
