I fire up PG and let it connect with the SkyTrak unit. After connections are established I decide to see what that little button for Short Game Mode does. Clicking it gives a message to the effect of 'short game mode set' or something similar but the SkyTrak gets disarmed. When I Arm the SkyTrak using the appropriate button is Short Game Mode still on? A little indicator light like the top 2 in the list would be nice to know which features are enabled/disabled.

Haven't had time to try the putting mode but what exactly does that mode fix? I am able to engage both the short game mode and putting mode at the same time?

The three SkyTrak modes - Normal, Short Game and Putting mode are important for three reasons:

1. They prepare SkyTrak to more precisely read those sort of shots and help eliminate reads when no shot was intended.

2. They let PG know if say a ball hit along the ground from the fairway was a duff or a putt

3. Most importantly, SimConsole attempts to make up for SkyTrak's accuracy which could sometimes otherwise mean missed short putts and chips that was no fault of your own. For putts it will scale down the horizontal launch angle depending on the putt's speed and for short game mode it will limit the launch angle to 2 degrees.

Selecting putting mode is automatic when on the greens but you must manually select it if off otherwise PG can give crazy results. To select it from PG, click the putter icon in on the arc thingy in PG will set putter mode, but as you found, you must also rearm skytrak by clicking the right most icon on that arc too. This does the same as the Putting Mode and Arm SkyTrak buttons in SkyTrak.

Short game will be enabled when close to the green, but you can manually do it by shot selection in PG or in Simconsole.
