Brisbane golfer Ted Ball becomes the

oldest player to make his PGA debut

at the Bay Hill Invitational in Florida.

Ball, playing alongside Rickie Fowler and

Viktor Hovland, in the first round of the

Arnold Palmer classic shot a steady

1 under par round of 71. After a nervous

start Ball ground out a back nine of 33 to

finish in a tie for 25th.

Well that was fun. I played my round against Fowler and Hovland in real time (although in replay). They were a featured pairing so I could play as if in the threesome. It was pretty amazing to have very similar distances although the pins didn't match. But I could set the same wind and course conditions.

My player is set up so that I can play and score like a pro and it was very enjoyable. I'll be playing all the big tourneys and see how much money I can make.

Australian pensioner Ted Ball

makes cut in PGA debut at

Bay Hill Invitational.

Ball, 70, almost shoots his age

in the second round at Bay Hill.

Once again nerves caused another

slow start but the debutant finished

with three birdies to post his

second 71 of the tournament.

He is currently in a tie for 23rd at -2.

I had pins at Easy for the first round and Medium for the second but I'm finding the pin positions very difficult. I've only had one or two straight putts in two rounds. I was playing alongside Patrick Cantlay and Matt Fitzpatrick and was surprised by the level of my schadenfreude as they sprayed shots and missed short putts. I'll have to hire a sports psychologist once I've made some money to stop this worrying trend.

So, I'll be playing alongside my fellow countryman Min Woo Lee tomorrow.

In a tie for 11th on -5 after 3rd round. Four off the lead.

Shot a 69. 3 birds. I had some luck but putts aren't dropping.

I'll set the pins to Difficult for the final round.

Should have a good payday though.
