Teams - no idea how this works, seems pointless

 

LIV could work as a truly international comp.  The money they're on, longer flights is a small price to pay.

 Lets say Gooch wins (probably)...I think he gets 4 million bucks. Whatever "team" wins, I think they split up 3 million ($750,000.00 each)

 That way, even if you're not going to win the tournament, you have an incentive to keep playing your best.

I think its great!   Much more fun than the PGA smugness...  Love the team format as well...  These golfers are pros and are playing on some of the toughest courses..   I've been watching since day 1!

But how are the teams formed?  Ranking, friendships, nationality?

 I think Norman picks the captains, and then the captains take turns picking who they want on they're team. I think different captains and different players on the teams each tournament.  Just a guess... (probably way off) lol
