This forum is so dead that I hope I get a reply. I don't really know who to ask but I figure you all play games besides golf. Obviously I have Steam.

The question that I have is I am considering buying a new game console but I don't know if it will be worth it. I am considering a Playstation 5 or the latest X-box One X(?).

My computer is fairly decent, not great, but it plays most games that I throw at it.  I am a crappy gamer, but then I don't hardly practice. So, I wonder if Steam might be enough?

If you can wait a while this may be of interest. I’m thinking of getting one after they release and are tested/reviewed.

Xbox X or S (I wouldn't get older Xboxes) gives you access to Game Pass (smallish monthly fee) which gives you access to a library of about 100 games which has titles being added (and deleted) quite often. Playstation 5 doesn't have that option and you would have to pay retail price for each title as far as I know.

If I bought game pass, without having an X-box, would I be able to play all of those games on PC?  Also, thanks for the replies.  I have been considering getting the flight simulator but at this time all I have is a keyboard and mouse.

If memory serves, on the high end, the latest Xbox is a more powerful machine than the PS5....

The PS5 does have the cool haptic controller and a new VR headset will be coming for it next year.

Honestly it’s early in the lifecycle for both and very little has been released that uniquely takes advantage of the next gen hardware.

I find it hard to choose between them right now.

As Ted has shown us, one thing that might tip the scale is the desire to run flight simulator on the Xbox?

Do you think then that it is too early to consider buying either console?  I have a PS4 but there is no room for me to download any more games. I guess I could try to erase a couple and that might give me more access. Right now, I am playing on my PC more.

You know you can hook an external hard drive to your PS4 ,right?

Yeah, You can use Game Pass on PC but it looks like bgast1's PC wouldn't handle Flight Sim. My son's high-endish PC struggled badly.
