Here is a small package of grass textures that I have created and used heavily; these are all "green grass" which means they will be best suited for the more maintained parts of the course - i.e. tees, fairways, greens and lighter rough. There are also a couple of normal maps.

And here is a set of more "rugged" textures for less maintained areas.

Thank you so much Matt, the last few courses of yours I have been in awe of your textures you used and was wishing I could use yours for Hazeltine because that is what I hate about my course. I am just not a texture guy even though I have tons of them but they simply just don't show very good in game or I need to watch some more of DP's tutorials again on that part..lol

That's one of those things I'm always trying to improve upon, I suppose. I still don't think it's half as cool as the 3D grass though. It helps that I married a graphic designer by trade and have picked up a lot of Photoshop tricks just by osmosis.

Anyway these packages may seem kind of small, but I actually don't have that many textures overall. Everything I've released in the last year or so consist of libraries made up from these textures, which I just mix and match and then will play around with tiling, color, and mowing patterns.

I like to think these are pretty versatile - and I'm trying to get out of the habit of calling them "green", "tee" etc because many of them actually work for multiple surfaces. Some of my best sets came out of simply experimenting with using a rough as a fairway, for one example.

Well with Hazeltine going to get the 3d treatment the rough textures aren't that important so i'll stick with what the tutorial is using and since I am not keen on my overlay even though it is better than the original one I think textures if they look nice make the course look better than the overlay method. I could modify the overlay using the texture overlay.psd's I have as well but we'll see. It's just nice to have other options as well.

Once again thank you.
