BIg thanks to DPRoberts for setting up this grid for photoshop and making a tutorial for me to follow, having fun using this method.  Matt, if you would like to add that tutorial video here feel free :)

Looking great DoGgs!

This was one way of helping DoGgs scale a satellite image of a hole and piece together several holes in Photoshop. Many ways to do this. I tried to keep it simple and minimize the back and forth between Unity and Photoshop. Same concept can be developed with Gimp. I'm using Photoshop CC 2018.

You can even do this with heightmaps linked to the satellites images but that takes a bit more work.

Gridlines file you will need for import into Unity - https://www.dropbox....dlines.psd?dl=0

If for some reason you would like to make your terrain a different size than 2048x2048, let me know. It can be done but then the numbers we work with are not 1:1 so we have to make adjustments for that. Only bummer was my Bandicam did not record my mouse cursor. I'm too busy to redo it at this time.

Enjoy!

DPR if you are still around...  I decided to mess around in Unity to see if I can get the itch fired back up.  I loaded the grid in and then plotted a rough spline and I got the dreaded flashing on its mesh.  I then tried changing the texture in slot 1 to see if that helped, but it didn't.

I've had the flashing various times in my previous builds and was able to fix it, but the regular fixes don't seem to apply here.  Any ideas?

I apologize or such an open ended question, but it didn't start until I resized to 2048 X 2048 and used the grid in slot 1.  Now, I can't seem to get rid of it...

Can you post an image of the mesh in shaded wireframe view? It sounds like the mesh is corrupting. Random question as well - check the cog wheel in the PP menu and verify that the mesh height setting is 0.15. Meaning that it’s planting the meshes 0.15m above the Terrain.
