Larry,

This week I'll create some videos for v1.4 of the house builder so it can be released. This will be a Blender only release of the house builder. They will be some enhancements to Matt's videos demonstrating how to incorporate reflective windows and show you some tricks I learned while creating the buildings for Roy's Crossgates course.

That sounds great Larry. That way we can make Larry's head really explode. :D Just kidding, he's doing great with it.

On another note, Matt I sent you a message over on OGT beings, Larry filled up your inbox with PMs

I had to halt work on the release to work on my Android apps. I finished the mods this weekend, so it should be available by the end of the week.

Hello Larry,

I was wondery if you had time to do the video for that builder version 1.4. I can’t wait to use it.

Thank you

Justin and I have been privileged to work with Matt on the upcoming v1.4 of the House Builder. I have spent the past week or so developing the new window system that can use either reflective or non-reflective windows. It eliminates window planes overlapping the wall planes and should eliminate the z-fighting that occurred with previous versions of the House Builder. I created this two unit duplex/condo to debug the system. All windows, even those in the doors are reflective.

Hi Larry,

Your buildings look just great. I would very much like to use them in my future projects.

Unfortunately the links you have given don't work anymore:(.

Is it still possible that you could share some of your buildings? This last one especially.

I'd be very thankfull.

Hi Tomi,

DropBox changed my folder designations, so the older links no longer work. Here is the updated link to the above duplex:

https://www.dropbox....itypackage?dl=0

In the coming weeks, I hope to create a new topic with links to many of the buildings and assets I have created, so stay tuned.

Great to hear :).

Thank you so much! Really appreciate this house building staff you guys are working with.

I'd like to learn also something of this myself, but at the moment, I'm just too busy with my family duties.

So thanks!

I just figured out that there is two things that I would really need, a swimming pool (or few of them) and a flagpole with flag.

I hope that someone could be kind enough to share these. I only have Speedtree assets but I'm always willing to share them if you want.

First, let me just say this:

DPR YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

Thank you very much for your contributions!

I am building my first course and I have used a couple things that you created.  I am not sure if I will use the house package or not.  Actually, I should say I don't how I am going to use it yet, but I will use it in some form.  I just need to play with it some to figure that out.

Anyway, I didn't read the whole thread, but I did notice that the link on the first post is not to the unity package. The link to the unity package does appear in post 25 though...

http://www.perfectparallel.com/topic/8760-dpr-house-builder-v1-3-release/page-2#entry137624

I spent about 20 minutes trying to figure that out. So, maybe this will save some folks some time.   I spent 20 minutes to find something that you spent DAYS making - that's laughable!

Ohhhhh-k, I am off to play house :)

Courses:

Bradford Links - released

Ironwood - released

Cypress Landing - released (also available in a 3DG version)

Crow's Nest - released

I'm trying my hand at building a few clubhouses and other structures.  Not nearly as impressive as what others have posted, but I'm pleased with what I've learned so far.  HUGE thanks to DPRoberts and all who have posted here.  I've learned a lot from these threads.  It's quite fun once you get into it.

Mansion/Clubhouse at French Lick.  More tweaking to be done but a decent start.  I will also work on the pavilion.

Still loving the House Builder!

One of my winter projects is Ridgewood CC.  Here is my first go at the clubhouse:

Still some proportional tweaking left to do but it's a start.

I may be late to this thread, but sketchup also has a 3D warehouse that has tons of homes you can download if you are looking for general homes to add to your models.  I am working on a course that has generic looking colonial homes and 3D warehouse has a lot you can download an import directly into unity...just requires some minor scaling.  Here is the link
