Don't think so DP, I was thinking more of individually by selecting

them and deleting the collider in the hierarchy for a particular shrub.

Anything mass planted would have to be adjusted before adding

to the painting tabs.

so are you saying it is to much for a 1060 card?

If I had a better CPU and some of the settings turned down, then it would certainly increase the FPS, a 6GB 1060 should be able to cope with this course. My 3GB version does struggle on some of the holes , performance wise, but not enough to stop me playing.

There is no shame in defeat, there is only shame if you do not learn from it.

I've got an i7 7700K with a GTX 1080ti (this is a top end PC for anyone not up on computers). I set the graphics settings for this course to Medium and I was still getting frame rates under 30fps in places. I also had to play with pause rendering on in 3-click to reduce meter issues.

The good news is that because of the amount of planting, the course still looks great on lower settings and so it can still be an enjoyable experience, at least on my PC! I don't like having to adjust settings for individual courses though, so unless Rob manages to optimise it (and I know he's trying to) then I doubt that it's a course I'll be playing much. I may not even keep it. If PP ever introduces course profiles in the future then it would be a different matter.

It's a beautiful course with a nice hole layout, but if you've got a low spec PC then you're probably not going to be able to play it at present.

the course with all the planting plays fine
...on Ultra high defaults....I thought it would be a slideshow after i finished the 4th hole!!!!

So I kept going and was in complete shock that with everything done, maybe I dip below 20 fps on some holes....on ultra high once again.

I think any course should be played with pause rendering on the swing.

plus fps at 30? If you ask me that's great with this course

If you dont have the power, stick with the other great courses out there.

If you have a high end machine, you will enjoy it. Plus, PCs/intel whoever crank out faster machines each year, and hardcore gamers upgrade all the time.

This course was created to take unity / JNPG to the max with planting and bunkering

Hello,

well,…after 2 weeks of beta testing there will be a delay releasing this course. We discovered that the FPS hit is too much.

The problem is that I was over-planting on a low resolution grass texture to “cover it up” So the course is one big bush which is sucking up the CPU

But after some tips , we decided that the course will look and play better if we get a decent overlay texture and then thin out the bushes

Its really not that bad but there is a lot of redecorating that need to be done, based on the overlay etc.

This should give the course an improved look and crank up the FPS.

also, The overall layout and design is fine, but there is not enough strategy.

Too much eye candy and not enough thinking around the course.

Therefore, its time to retexture and “take away” which will take some doing. Screenshots to eventually follow.

That's it, make a last pit-stop, put on fresh tires,

fill up on fuel, and pass the pack on the way to

the checkers. Looking forward to the finish.

Ok,….so I started the tedious process of filtering out the bushes and added a cool underlying texture

Albeto texture

smoothness and normal layer

Looks great…Im happy with the change,…and a lot of new work created for myself

however,

My fps is going down!!! Is this the texture?? 2 layers?

Whats you tri count and draw calls on a hole where your FPS struggles? (Sure you know how but just in case accessed by clicking the "play" button and then clicking on the stats button)

Did you notice what they were before changing the texture over. I cant think it would be affecting the tri count, but maybe increasing the amount of draw calls hence the FPS drop? Just guessing really

Looks superb though, been looking forward to this one greatly

thanks all,...but we still have some gameplay issues.

I do have alot of 3d logs, log tees and ballwashers with alot of verts and tris...I wonder if thats the culprit?

Im gonna save my project and delete all the 3d objects and see if thats it.

The LOD 1,2 culled etc may need to be reset if thats it. will take a bit to test but it would be terrific if thats the answer

Drrob, maybe you could see in camera view where the long site-lines are (checking polycount) and see if you can smooth any rough terrain that isn't vital.   Just a thought.
