Geez...even my patience is being tried and that is saying something. Course Forge is falling off my radar for now, which is a shame really as I cannot imagine what this rigmarole has done to prospective customers. I feel sorry for the developers and the player base most of all that this could not all be resolved in a timely manner. What a fiasco.
It's time for an open beta!

Building courses was something I enjoyed in PGA2000 almost as much as playing. It's a shame the course builder here is still delayed.

Ok, I spoke again with SpeedTree yesterday. They promised me that we will be receiving the coupons soon. They have had some other developement priorities the last few weeks and they just have not had the resources to get to this yet. As soon as we have the coupons we can get everything rolling.

Really, Soon, this is a fantastic up to date and precise timeline
of upcoming events and I'm sure that Soon Unity will send
the Speedtree coupons, and Soon after that, things will
get rolling. The Soon we are reading now must be much
closer than the Soon we are accustomed to reading, and even though
it looks the same on the page this Soon must be the Soonest Soon there is,
and couldn't have come any Sooner.

I am not sure what "soon" means. I bought this game in April, and there were saying "soon" then with the same "cupon" excuse. So "soon" is obviously longer than 4 months, and now that they said "soon" again, it will be at least another 4 months.

One can't control the actions, or inactions, of others. It will be when it will be and it appears that it's anyone's guess. Constant harping or asking "are we there yet", won't speed it up unfortunately.

Someone asked previously exactly what these coupons are and what their purpose is and i don't remember seeing these things explained. Anyone able to do so now please ?
Coupon codes seem to be available all over the internet. Why can't they be used ?

From a sim point of view there will soon be a whole raft of players coming in from outside golf looking at winter sim options. JNPGs only drawback at the minute in general when compared to other options is its limited course library, in particular the real course replications, and also the ability for players to recreate their home course to keep playing over winter. Even a larger CF designer pool than the current ones would help If a full blown release is not something that is wanted to be done

So if we use Speedtree using this "free" software will cost us money, albeit at a reduced price ?

Im assuming the coupons will allow what would normally be paid for assets to be downloaded for free. From what I gather the concern was the out of the box there were very limited options in terms of trees etc available, so PP wanted to ensure that there was sufficient stuff bundled with CF to enable the user to design and build a full course "out of the box" as it were.
As I say though, I wouldve though people couldve found trees elsewhere in any case. Ive bulld my home course in unity, including multiple types of trees, club house etc etc all with free assest from the various sites, CG3D, turbosquid etc etc.
Yes its taken some work, lots of reading and learning about unity in general, fbx assets, prefabs, textures etc etc All of which I think will be far more of a learning curve than having to think about where to get trees from.
