Do you get the same thing if you start it from the icon on your desktop?  If yes, then read on.  Otherwise, maybe just stick to starting it from the shortcuts.  (I know that doesn't really help your situation if you want to start from the Steam page, though).

You can change the PG configuration settings manually, if you're up for it.  It's not that difficult and if something goes wrong, you can always uninstall and re-install the game - that should get back to default settings.  For a quicker possible fix, follow the instructions below:

1. Locate your PG settings folder in Windows Explorer.  Mine is located at the path below, but you will likely have a slightly different number for one of the highlighted numbers in your path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\174561021\288140\remote\Perfect Golf

2. From that folder, open the options.cfg file with Notepad (or your default text editor).

3. In that file, find the setting for fullScreen=False (you can use F3 or CTRL-F to search for "screen").

4. Change the setting from "fullScreen=False" to "fullScreen=True" (I don't know if the case matters, but to be safe, make sure the case is the same - that is, use a capital T on True).  Be careful not to make any other changes than False to True.

5. Close and save the options.cfg file.

4. Start PG from the Steam Play button and it should open in full screen where you should be able to see and adjust the window size and/or resolution as you wish.

As noted above, i you don't want to manually attempt the fix above, or if something goes wrong and the game won't start, I would suggest uninstalling the game completely and then re-installing it.

There's a pinned topic on steam forums that may help you-Just FYI

The pinned topic says the same thing as I noted above (I didn't realize that topic was pinned on the Steam forum!), except AJ suggested changing the the width and height values.  I wasn't sure if changing these had to match a particular resolution or whether you could use any values, so I didn't make that suggestion (like setting it to 2473x2473 and/or higher values than your monitor can display).

The worst thing you could do is stop PG from starting at all - and that isn't even that bad!  In that case, you uninstall PG and then reinstall PG.

The options.cfg file is in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\174561021\288140\remote\Perfect Golf" folder, where the 174561021 will be different on your computer.  There is only one folder in the \userdata folder, so it's fairly easy to find.  Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata", then open the folder with the number value, then open the "\288140\remote\Perfect Golf" folder and inside there you will find the options.cfg file.

An even easier way to get to the config file is to simply type "options.cfg" in the search box of the start menu.  Right click on it and select "open".  Edit, save and close.  Done.

That would depend upon what operating system you are using.  For Windows 7 the search box is at the bottom of the start menu.  Lower left corner.

Win10 search is a bit different, and by default, searching from the Start menu doesn't search in Program Files folder.  Click Start and then just type options.cfg and the Enter key, then it should start searching "My Stuff".  Let it search and when it's done, you should see something like this:

9xgNzu0l.png

If you click on "File Explorer", then you should see a window like this:

V9LrmRvl.png

Click on the C:\ as shown by 1 and then type options.cfg in the box shown by 2.  Just double-click to open any of the files that are found - there may be several, some of which are shortcuts that will lead you to the file.  Adjust the width and height parameters (I'd suggest 1600 x 900) and the close and save the file.  Start PG.

I'll make a video and upload it to show you how to find the file (in a slightly different way than searching, since I already know where the file lives).

Open it with Notepad, then make the changes and close Notepad (and save the file).  Then try starting PG and it should be more legible.

Tony, I just finished the video.

Not sure it will help, because you seem to be having trouble with opening the file with Notepad.  Another video may be necessary.....  :)

With this video (not sure why it stretched out, but so be it!) you should be able to find and use Notepad to open the options.cfg file.  In the video I tried to open the stats.save file, but it's the exact same procedure with the options.cfg file.  Start by RIGHT-CLICKING on the file and choose OPEN WITH...:
