Yeah luckily once you get the hang of a completely different way of doing things, CF has a very quick workflow. More time goes into planning and fine tuning rather than the technical aspects of constructing.

Matthew wasn't Black Wolf Run your course? If so will you be converting it for PG?

I finished Blackwolf Run but the landplot was not my creation; I believe two designers worked on it before me. Having seen the real thing a few times, I think it is fairly accurate though.
I do have a conversion in progress.

Still very much in testing mode.
Everything not in scale, the wheel is wobbly,
I hate the colors, but I sure like the reflections.
It'll come together soon. The working name is
Millstone Golf Club, but at the moment it's more
like, "Please give me some decent textures Club".

Is that using AC3D Neal? Be cool to have animated 3D on courses. My designing is kind reached the point where my courses just won't look right without fences and houses. Just don't have the time to design all the 3D myself.
Keep up the great work.

Tim, the Mill and wheel were designed in AC3D, I animated
the wheel in Blender. That walkway will have stilts and
be textured in the end. Something like this.
Yea, that shade of orange is not good at all. I'll
redesign the whole thing with a dark wood. Just
testing to see whats possible at the moment.

Neal,
You could always sponsor the wheel by Repsol Honda....

Tim I was the same boat with South. The fence is easy as there are tons of them online to grab for free. The one on South hole 12 I found online and tweaked color, etc. Houses are what are tough. I built the clubhouse in sketchup as its super fast (relative - hacked for days) to build boxes and such. I find the texturing in sketchup nearly impossible for me.

Over the Christmas holiday I started another APCD conversion and this one came together super quickly; this course is called The Reservoir and is the first course I ever released for Links. I think Perfect Golf has really done this one justice.
Here's a couple of the Links version for comparison; the top one is a little different as I made some changes to the teeing area.
Is it just me, or does the water's edge look way way more realistic in the Links version? The PG version has no shadowing or transition, just a hard switch from flat water to flat land. Even the water surface and reflections look better in the Links version.

Must be no wind at all in the Links 2003 screens because I don't still perfectly reflective still water when I go golfing..lol, I also don't see a perfectly rounded edge going to the water when I go golfing as well. Yep, Links 2003 was perfect!
By the way nice you're doing a very nice job!

LINKS water doesn't move, and can also reflect
the non-moving trees as well. There is a reflective
moving water with Unity that works well in PG, but it is
a FPS thief and needs to be used sparingly but I'm sure
will make an appearance...wink, wink. As for the edges,
they can be designed the way the designer chooses.
Scraggly edges or smooth straight edges, it just a matter
of how much time you want to spend to get the look you want.
But yes, in those still shots, LINKS looks better as far as the edges.
But the PG course looks much more real, to me anyway

Five Sisters. Massive waterworks in progress.
Sister 1 has already moved in:
Sisters 2, 3, 4 and 5 are still in the low-polyfication workshop and will be delivered on site soon.
Our Blammocorp! resident art buyer, plastics division, a very talented young person called Dixie Normous, is in charge of this particular task.
