Nice shot!

Willow Update:

New Tee for the 18th hole, it now plays 15 yds longer.

2AaRYE2.jpg

New green sculpted for 13, now with roll-off funnel bissecting the green into two halfs (tee is down the right)

0GHRduo.jpg

And that Easter Egg does exist!

DpIOCnl.jpg

Almost there. I'm going for an overall slightly darker and dryer look (at least for the dynamic light OFF version). Last issue are some trees, which have lost their dependencies after umpteen project transfers, and which turn out either too dark or too bright.

Me and the entire Staff of Show & Tell wish you a

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2016 will be grand, I just know it!

Love the new 18th tee!  That angle should be very cool/interesting.

HAPPY NEW YEAR  to You and Tara, and her sisters.

Never knew about the easter egg, I'll have to

keep a closer eye on things from now on.

Well, Willow Heath is done. Or I should say: redone. I've ticked the box and moved on.

Oasis Lodge would be next in the rotation, but I'm waiting for a few CF improvements to be able to finish it. Same for the Swan. And that means that it's time to conjure up that new place...

Behold, in its most embryonic stage, the first incarnation of Five Sisters:

T2RrCnG.jpg

Of course those flat mountaintops will received edges of the jagged kind - and the valley at the bottom will be flattened to accommodate 18 holes. It's just fresh out of the egg and will morph into many larval stages and after that into a nice, fat pupa afore breaking out of its cage and spreading its wings.

iTmxher.jpg

New method this time around: I will develop and hopefully perfecti the landscape first, including trees and water systems and rocks and objects and monuments for the five sisters, and the clubhouse  - and will only start adding the golf course proper once the scenery is completely done.

That strikes me as the proper sequence in this case: The mountains were here first, golfing was added much later.

Never mind, I'll use the GPS on my phone.

I'll bet you're only going for the five sisters, lol.

One of them was camera shy so only got the 4 of them. Although I can see where K11 got his terrain inspiration from, lol.

Looks like an incredible starting point K11.  Very imaginative landscape.  Ditto what Drgnslyr said above, your grasp of Unity is very impressive.  Looking fwd. to your Willow Heath and Black Swan revisions.

I am not at all a Master of Unity, guys. I may be a little less clueless than others about the 2 percent of Unity that are required for course design. You've only seen one texture, and it is tiling quite badly. Jeeze Louise, this uncritical audience would even applaud a close-up image of a greasy fur ball made out of my navel lint!

Very funny, Daz. Since I can't unsee the horror you have wrought on this thread, I have to counter it by supporting the opposite end of the spectrum. That means that THESE aren't the five sisters either:

Dang it, you spoiled this one for me. I always said that PG is too easy...

Nice shot, Sir! And so good to know that Hazyview still is around.

Ladies and Gentleman, please give highfade a generous hand, he has created two darn fine courses already: Hazyview and Nautilus Bay (Ported from Links).

Day 2 of the five sisters: Mainly sculpting mountaintops and prepping the ground for golfing areas and riverbeds. The terrain is starting to take shape. Below the main piazza of the course, with holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 16 and 17 gathered into a cramped but nevertheless least claustrophobic of places:

7LAJS97.jpg

Further back, things get a bit tighter...

s5NfLe2.jpg

...culminating in the long par 3 9th hole on top (100+m above the 1st tee), where the fifth sister sacrificed herself to the mountain demon, at least according to the old legend.

I then tried to place my first waterfall (the third sister), just for looksies. It moves and falls nicely, though in this still image it's barely visible and it does need a dark, wet rock background. I would have persisted, but the horrifying picture posted by Daz kept haunting me.

UodnVgk.jpg

Tomorrow: Cliff and meadow textures. Time permitting: Riverbed rock texture, probably 2 versions (wet and dry)

Looks great K11. I was wondering what a waterfall would look like in PG. Thanks for quenching my curious thoughts.

Super! I'm off to get a Barrel. Too bad about

the fifth sister, was she the firstborn or the last?

Oh yea, Standing ovation for Highfade, two great

courses and sisters in their own right. Nautilus was

one of my favorite Links courses, and was I believe the

first to take advantage of the new texture adjustments

of the time. Very Nice crossover and plays just as well

as the old.

With a little bit of luck it might look a little bit like this:

That's a free asset, btw, to be found in the Unity Asset Store, look for "Water FX Pack". Still needs hours of tweaking. Sorry about the music in the background, forgot to turn it down (Tusk - Fleetwood Mac)

Nice plunge, but I can't help but see at least

4 sisters in their weekly bathing ritual. I hope

it's a Friday, that's my tee time.
