On my home course there are areas where trees reside but they are well off the beaten track as far as coming in to play is concerned, so if they had no collisions it wouldn't cause me a problem, but it would if I was planting them in areas where golf shots could end up.

I believe collision properties can be added to the U4 trees,
but the upper limbs do not catch as many golfballs as the Speedtrees.
You can adjust the Sperical collisions of Speedtrees but I don't
think it is possible with the U4 trees. Just speculation, I could
be totally wrong.

Is it still the case that U4 trees have no collision detection?

You can add collision detection to u4 trees in the course building process with no issues.

The resident stone mason has been
busy chiseling out some benches.
I'm not sold on the texture, may have
him sweat a bit more. Whatcha think?

Reminds me of something a little bit like this:
Concept or comfort? Tricky choice.

The last thing I need is a S.W.A.T. team surrounding my
house and kicking my door in to confiscate illegal Speedtrees.
K11 just shared his tree editor bushes, be sure to write to
him in the calaboose.

I'll let the stonemason handle the tombstones.
The carpenter just rode into town and I hired
him right away. He'd never seen a Golf Course
before and wondered why I wanted a bench
in the middle of nowhere. He did admire
the newfangled sock washer though.

Better, imo. My hindquarters might actually look forward to sitting on that.

Ah, I was wondering how you would pun this one into a smart reply! Well played, Sir! Your quota of saucy rejoinders remains at 100%, which is a great, great achievement!
Now to business. My links plant package that I dropped into a box a bit further above was defective. My bad, poor exporting technique. I deleted it and added a second one, which I hope will do a bit better. It also contains improvements on all the modells. Apologies for this, go here for my second and hopefully more sucessful attempt:

Excellent K11, a big improvement by the looks of 'em.
More density, and no stray fronds. You're becoming
quite the Bushmeister.

Thanks again, these look great but I did ran into some problems...
What I've learned is not to change the tree height slider. If you make it lower there are like ghost branches sticking out at the top of the bush. I also managed to single handedly screw up Tree 3 when I tried to change the color.
I'll post some pics when I get it right

Ghost branches are a known issue with Unity trees, and fiddling with the tree height tends to conjure them up (on dynamic skies, I believe). There is no knowing if, how and by whom this issue will ever be addressed... might be a permanent problem, because Unity, who ought to take care of these things, simply won't.
If you are generally unhappy with the size of a single plant, best
- drag and drop the prefab into the scene to bring it up as a game object
- Click on this new game object in your hierarchy to bring it up in the inspector
- In the inspector, you will find the tree creator interface and you could use it to change the aspect and the shape of the tree...
- ...or change the scale of the object by fiddling with the xyz dimension right on top of the inspector.
- When happy, grab the altered prefab in the hierarchy and drop in on top of the old prefab in your assets to overwrite it.
- Don't fiddle with tree sizes when planting
Of course, your change then will affect every planted instance of that tree.
And yes, by all means, adjust the colours. You can do this either through the color bar on top of the material or, better, by opening up and editing one of the texture atlases (containing both the bark and leaf textures) in Photoshop.
I wish it were easier. It isn't and we're on our own with this ungodly plant mess.

I'm so bored... when can I do something about these bland mesh textures and add some pizzazz.... I don't want to plant stuff just because there's nothing else to do...
Throughout the course, maximum bushiness will only be attained in a few hotspots (That's one for you, NoPutt, go ahead and add some nastiness to that one...)
And here's one such spot: The image shows the 8th, 290+ yds par 4.

Maximum Bushiness, Hotspots,
There's only one thing I could insert,
but I won't.
