I certainly hope it doesn't come to life on course like that or like this boss from Metroid Prime:

That rock formation in the back, right in the center... looks like...
Hm, I could go for something phallic, but I'd rather pick an exposed middle finger. You ain't flipping us the bird here, NoPutt?
Looking good!

Well, on my end there is nothing new to show y'all. Still waiting for the CF update to forge ahead.
So I'm afraid I've got nothing ... but since when has that ever stopped me from posting?

There's quite a few very good ones of these in the pipeline, mcthommo. Since Mike gave us his excellent ocean water prefab, a veritable linksplosion has ripped through the private CF test section.

Hopefully you all don't get too potty waiting for your bunkers, really cant wait for some amazing new courses to hack around on, Id even be willing to become K11's personal butler just to ensure he can focus on making stupendous courses.
And by the look of things there are a few more people here that will be worthy of butlerhood.

Well, Mike informed us that pot bunkers will not be included in the next CF update, those buggers are causing the dev team considerable headaches, it would seem . You may buttle over to his place any time and politely ask him what's taking so long. Not the pot bunkers, the next update.
With so much raw design talent waiting in the wings and raring to storm into the limelight (I'm really scared of a few of those guys), there is less pressure on me to crank out my oeuvres as quickly as possible - and a tremendous lot more incentive to come up with more diverse and unique trimmings, hence the self-made trees. Being CF-less (I did mention this before a few hundred times, I believe - harrumph!) I'm currently on a prolonged design hiatus - only checking in on week-ends and having a brief look at stuff.

Nautilus Bay nearing completion. I'm now just adding crap to hurt the framerate.

Ah-haah, I see you have selected the Blammocorp!™ "Countryside Classic Deluxe" line of tee zone furbishments. Excellent choice, Sir.
Wish I could say the same about those trees.... Probably just me, but they are spoiling an otherwise glorious view.
Other than that, highfade, a thing of beauty, makes me itch to swing away at it. mcthommo's world just got a lot better and I'll send Trath over to buttle a bit for you. Short commute for him: he's a compatriot, it would seem.

PZ,
Adriaan & Matt (and of course Mike and Andrew) will probably be able to answer better, but there is functionality built in to Terrain Forge that lets you import a .CRZ course file in to Unity.
It brings in the heightmap elevations and also creates a texture overlay of the course. Overlay might not quite sit 100% with the heightmap so may need some fine tuning.
Then you use Course Forge to draw out the splines over your texture to lay out the course. Then tweak the elevations, smooth the greens where needed, add pins and tees, hazards and OOB, add your planting and voila.
Whilst the .CRZ import option is there, it doesn't mean that courses can be freely cherry picked from the Links course archive. I think you either need permission to recreate a course or it be one of your own APCD designs.

Dang!
Nautilus Bay always looked good in Links 2003, but these PG images are sweet. So chuffed Adriaan decided to port this one over, always enjoyed battling the fairways and greens of Adriaan's APCD design.
Kudos Mr M.

Thanks for the comments.
Daz is 100% spot on with his explanation of the conversion. I had very little elevation work to do apart from smoothing out the whole terrain. Some bunkers needed a bit more work but I tried to stick to the original as far as possible. Putting is tough on these greens with 4-putts not uncommon.
K11, is just your dislike of Speedtree or the planting itself the bothers you?. It bothers me as well but don't know how to make it better, never really enjoys the vegetation part of course making.

With regards to Speedtrees (and the Unity 5 trees K11 built?), the biggest issue from my untrained eyes point of view is how the shadows work (or don't work) between the leaves. This makes the trees very dark on one side which just looks unnatural. In the next Unity patch, 5.3 set for a December 8 release Speedtrees get improved:
SpeedTree: Billboard Improvements
Hopefully this will alleviate our foliage fiasco?
PS. looking at 5.3 and 5.4, even although I don't understand everything fully, it looks pretty amazing for the Unity 5 engine. Hopefully these will be integrated into the final release of the game ... so mid next year
