For those who were asking about Links APCD designs in to Unity/CF, I located this on PP's Vimeo channel

Just a few questions guys. No problem if your not permitted to answear any of them. Never created a course in any game, don't have course forge and only just getting to grips understanding Unity.
1. If I download a free asset ( say a building) from the Unity store can I freely use it in Course forge.
2. If I pay for a unity asset can I freely use it in course forge or is it only for my own use.
3. Once everyone has course forge can I give a friend my course code even half finished to test out.
4. If I create a course and its not deemed good enough for general release ( no idea how selection is going to work) can a friend and I have this course on each computer and play it anyway through a password lobby game
Sorry to be a pain just trying to understand how things will work
Many thanks

- Yes.
- Don't know for sure, but probably yes, as long as you are not making money with it. If in doubt, read the fine print in the Unity Asset Store or contact the creator of your object.
- Yes, but keeping in mind that CF is tested out in PG. You can either build an unfinished course and send the course to your friend or make a package of your current Unity/CF project at any time and send it to your friend for him to work on the design as well.
- Yes. Not sure if you can use the official PG site for this, though.
Course vetting by PG is not regulated yet, but will be introduced at a later stage. The selection criteria are unknown as per today - probably they will serve to weed out bad technical quality courses and haphazard or incomplete designs.
You're not a pain, Jim.

Great looking course and shot from some very nice aspects to show it off.
Looking forward to so many great designs in this thread eventually being available, but understand that there is a great deal of road to be travelled in that respect with in-depth play-testing, review after changes in game/environment interaction and so many other variables.
Also so good to see designers from all past franchises hard at work... the depth of talent is going to be incredible!

@highfade: Looks absolutely stunning! And, not to beat a dead horse, but I wonder what is being reflected in the area I've circled in this screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/G...m/Gh6CjPR.jpg

I have no idea. The water is the PP water prefab and the reflections are random of the overall view of the course. I'll stick with it for now but will try later on to do the real time water and see what effect does it have on my framerate.

So, trees: We meet again! Your pompous, hoity-toity arboreal twats!
And this time around, you even dare showing up as Speedtrees. With your own clever LOD la-dee-da stuff, eh? Well, you look silly and cartoony. Clumpy hulks of greenery, disfigured by weird lighting. What an effrontery that you should claim admittance to the hallowed grounds of my beloved Lodge!
Trees, you tricky bastards! Where there should be Acacias, Marula Trees, Palms, perhaps a few Quiver Trees, Baobabs, and Hell, even lowly Cedars, you show up as Scotts Pines and Chinese Banyans?
But that's alright, this is not planting you're seeing here. This is prepping:
Right now all that I care about are shapes (and the combinations thereof), frequency and distribution. The temptation to plant too many trees is overwhelming at times: Just erect green walls to obfuscate shady views, do not trust the landscape and the textures, no, just smear those arrogant trees everywhere and it'll be okay... But no, it won't. How to cluster trees into small islands, how to place just a few of them to educationally infringe into game-play, how to learn and appreciate the value of emptiness, its merits as breathing space... lessons from trees, those sick perverts!
It's a struggle. The ambition is to not plant one tree too much. Non multa sed multum - less is more.
I still don't like Speedtree. Something about them rubs me wrong. But Unity called it and aborted supporting older tree methods, so PG and CF have no choice but to embrace them. Woe to us all!

Gotta agree with ya on Speedtrees K. They do look a
little cartoony next to the extraordinary textures you produce,
but hey, It's all we've got, for now. For shade I'd be happy
if Tara could just stand close with an umbrella...Hi Tara,

Not sure why we see some less than flattering trees (not all, as some don't look too bad) yet from a post Joe H posted back in March, other games with Unity 5 and Speedtree get better looking trees.
This is a new fishing game that is going to come out at some point (closed beta now). It also uses Unity5.0 now and Speedtree objects, I do think the Trees we have now are really good but nothing really can compete with speedtree, but if it gives us Leaf/Foilage collisions i'm all for it. How this game cannot have collisions is just unREAL. If The Golf Club has them and it uses Unity as well they need to quit blaming Unity as I see they are doing already.

I often wonder how K11 is still interested in PG, lol.
Hates Steam, doesn't appear to be a huge fan of Unity and loathes Speedtree.

LoL, hopefully soon.
Better yet, when can we get our hands on course forge...lol. It's killing me looking at all these great courses being built and nary a sign of seeing the CF for quite awhile.
