Sense of perspective: This concerns small things usually in the remote background - and also a bit more prominent since there are follow cams who mercifully reveal all the blemishes we could dismiss as negligible in the past. Not to mention the free roaming mode which will allow players to hike wherever they want, no doubt some of them seeking irrelevant technical details to go complain about.

Still, all of this takes place in the peripheral vision of an average computer golfer. You may file this under "nice touch", not so much as an essential skill. I'm killing time with things like this because I'm still short a set of decent, tropical forestry. Not so much palm trees, actually, which very rarely grow naturally out there, but things like good, big acacias with multi-level umbrella canopies.

I probably could go buy some, but naah... If I don't get payed, nobody gets payed! No tree whores in freeware country! Might even create a few billboards with these and plant them in the far background...

 

My next course will probably be made without trees and without water. These twin Achilles Heels are just too much trouble to deal with currently.

Thanks, but it stopped looking like this 3 hours ago, I'm sorry to report... After lengthy and very reasonable consultations the powers that be gently determined that the future should belong to SpeedTree™ - none of the trees you see are from them, so now begins the long search for new-fangled grunt snorts (sorry, slight retching attack)...hr-hm, search for beautiful and even better Speedtree stuff, combined with the very real risk of me having to get involved with that tree modeller of burp! Sorry, bit of reflux...

Still, I did say that the Lodge would be located in Southern Africa, so it must look African whenever i can manage to cough! grunt! Sorry...

Crazy! I'm zipping from the Lodge to Willow Heath to Pommeroy and back right now. Hate it! One thing at a time!

At the lodge, some huge constructions have been added: Pavilions on large lookout decks, allowing players to rest in the shade, watch others play in the heat, perhaps have a drink or wait to wave the following four-ball through. Here's the view back on to the 8th fairway:

There is at least one of these in short walking distance near every green and/or tee zone.

 

 

Right now they are empty, but when the course opens, of course they will...   nah, they will stay empty. Use your own imagination to fill them with deck chairs, a bar, sunbathing or skinny dipping showgirls from the Lodge and fat, sweaty Japanese businessmen. I'm not Dream Works, okay? But there will be plenty of them all over the place.
