And my last batch for quite some time:
A few more pictures with all the yardage markers planted. This time around, I did not set the light low to get the long shadows and the supernatural "magic hour" look.
The 7th. You will need a long drive to play your 2nd from here. It's a bit like the 10th at Augusta, only that the landing area is much narrower and will try to divert your ball off to the right and into trouble.
The 4th, 1st par 5. If you'r getting this view, you had to lay up and are playing your 3rd. I have a bit of a thing about par 5's with easily accessible lay-up areas. Don't like them, that's my thing. On this hole, there is no easy lay-up point on the downslope short of the ravine or on the small strip of fairway beyond it.
The 15th can be played with a long iron off the tee to somewhere like here, or with anything that carries 255 yds (from the back tees) through the gap behind the trees and over the bunker in the front left of picture. Of course, we will all go for it...

IanD - looks like you're getting to grips nicely with CF too....starting to look good.
K11 - I think I'd rather watch the Tara's play from behind!

The time you are putting into this is really paying off. It's looking very impressive indeed!

Thanks, Acrilix. I could go faster and am actually only investing 3 to 4 hours per week for the last month or so, on account of there not being any sort of endgame on the near horizon. The Heath is pretty much suspended in limbo until the next step can be taken - I project that this next step probably will be an upgraded and expanded CF beta and I am hoping for perhaps a PG alpha to go with it... I'm not inside the loop, so this is conjecture.
Anway, I'm sure things will start picking up somtimes soon™, meaning that for now I can stop and smell the roses with this one, then rip them out and plant tulips.
And post pics to keep the community entertained and encouraged. Like the following one, showing to the left one of my old grass billboards, clumsy and brutish, always meant to be a trial version to test planting, as opposed to the one on the right, a newer and better version, which is sleeker and a lot more natural-looking.
But this by no means will guarantee that it will work better - the villain on the left worked very well from the distance, gave my grass nice volume and sheen. The one on the right looks far better from up close, but might actually be too sleek to draw well in the distance, it's slim blades being swallowed up and lost between pixels. We'll see by next weekend.
Now let me talk to you about life... It's a joke. A bad one. But it does have its moments.

I think I have exhausted my vocabulary of superlatives to throw at you guys. Every new screen shot ups the ante, truly amazing stuff. Watching these courses grow from infancy has been a real treat.

@K11. First I want to thank you for sharing your results with CF! Good work!
My question is: is it possible to import an aerial image (maybe whit hightmap) and draw the excisting golfcourse whit CourseForge. So we can make an excisting Golfcourse.
Question 2: Do you need to know all about unity to work whit CourseForge to make some fligh-overs? Or do you have to learn Unity first to work whit CourseForge?
Thanks for your time, and keep up the good work!

1. Yes.
As we speak, a special Terrain Importer tool is being tested. It will be included into the PP package once its development is finished, so that you can import any bit of real world you like.
Even now, there are ways to do that without the terrain importer - browse these forums for some threads on this topic.
Personally, I prefer fictional golf courses. Creating a new one is more fun, to me, than copying an existing one.
2. Unity first!!!
I strongly recommend, if you want to go into course design, that you learn Unity first. 85% of my work is Unity. And what you are learning in Unity will serve you very well once CF becomes available.
You will not need to know all about Unity - the Unity game engine was basically designed to create first and 3rd person shooters (the official Unity party line would be to deny this). So no need to go into all the modelling and animation and scripting aspects, you can limit yourself to golf course-related Unity aspects like the terrain engine, textures, importing and placing models, creating and planting vegetation.
CF has it's own flythrough camera, by the way. In the current beta, I found that there was still ample room for improvement for it, but that's my personal opinion and it does work, you can make up to 4 flythroughs per hole. I haven't done that yet, it will be the cherry on top of the cake - and first I need to finish baking my cake.
If you're curious or have questions, just ask them here (Perhaps in a new thread). There's not just me, there are quite a few others who I'm sure will help you getting started...
Ik hoop dat dit geholpen, Barry

I don't see why not. At worst, you will have to use a screen capture software. At best, you can export them straight out of your project for viewing with the Unity player.
Like garynorman did in his thread with this example:
Takes a couple minutes to load, be patient - also, you need to dl and install the Unity player first.
And gary did that without the CourseForge at his disposal, btw. Which goes to show how much you can do with Unity already now.
In the long run, I would very much expect for every course to have it's own YouTube or Vimeo flythrough and gameplay clip, so that players can check it out first and then decide to download it or not, based on that video.

Thank you K11...I will buy myself a elearning book of Unity.
I know you guys like to design your own courses but I want to make existing courses because our customers want there golfcourse see or play. Thats the reason i ask about to import an aerial image :-)
Good luck with baking your cake, i will follow your work!
Dit heeft zeker geholpen :-)

You may want to start by watching these:
These 4 videos are a bit dated, but still apply and will give you a very good idea of what it will be like. Also, you get to hear MJ's lovely voice.

Of course, reading the above, if you want to use CF for commercial use you will need to have a commercial license.

Oooh, that voice did not sound so lovely just now... but of course he's right.
Anywho, the darndest natural occurence just struck the Heath. Remember the ponds at the bottom of the valley? There are two of them 0109 and 1018. This here is the bigger one, pond 1018 (named after the holes adjoined to it):
So, these last days we had a big drought (corrected the last word based on member imput). We did! And the ponds, mere catchment areas for the natural water funneled to the bottom of Willow Vale, dried out and emptied themselves. It was not a nice sight:
But fortunately, heavy rainfalls over the last couple days filled them up again. And now they look absolutely splendid:
There must have been a secret ingredient or something. The water never looked this good before...
I never hat noticed the movement of the waves before. Now, they keep oscillating all the time, soothing... uplifting...
Okay, enough stories! Some of you might want to know how. Well, PP and CF, that's how. I am not at liberty to tell you more, though, being bound by a local, acquatic NDA on all technical details. So please don't ask questions. Today, this is my water.
And Tara's water. She went running off for her swimsuit (Take it easy, Dave).
Very soon, it will be your water.
(I'm using the term "very soon" loosely. I have no idea about actual release dates)
