The Peacemaker is indescribable, I'm afraid. But what little of it is slowly emerging, well, that can be shown. It is made to be feared and adored at the same time.

Work in progress.

The harder the course is, the more I love it!  I cannot wait for this beauty to be ready to play.

No Idea how far from one hole's green to the next Tee boxes but from the look of those mountains I would think instead of a golf cart they would be using Helicopters.   :)  ;)  ;)  :)

you know jerry ...there is one golf hole in Africa that you that you need a helicopter to get to the tee ... i think the drop from tee to green is little less than 500 yds ... Par 3 , and a hole in one gives you a grand price .... :)

Don't let the red terrain deceive you. The final result will be more grey like proper mountains should be, more like Bighorn with a strong hint of Chambers Bay for the playing surfaces and grass style.

The tentative real world setting will be either in the Anasazi corner of the Mesa Verde Pueblo Indian territory or, more likely, somewhere in the Bolivian Altiplano along the road from Cochabamba up to La Paz. Or wherever, I don't really care.

tDRmRKP.jpg

A very deserted, very dry, elevated place. I set the altitude to 1611m / 5285ft above sea level.

Let's just say that The Peacemaker will not go easy on your pacemaker. No choppers, noise pollution will not be tolerated. And no fat American high handicappers in golf carts either.

And no irascible sociopaths from former Yugoslavia. And no Turkish president turned dictator. And no Syrian despot. And no people who don't know when to stop talking even after they've made their point in the first sentence of their speech and instead keep piling it on and on because they think you must be stupid. And no kittens. And nobody who ever had a job with Unity or Speedtree.

Just you.

I know I believe I understand what I think you said,

but I'm not sure I realize that what I read is

not what you meant. Anyway, It's a good looking

No kittens! Your pedigree may be impeccable, Bill the Cat, with your illustrious descent from the famed - and so sorely missed - Bloom County Classics. But my aversions against diminutive, sadistically cute feline younglings is legend around here and by now a well established sub-plot of the local lore - just read up on my 3450 posts to get up to speed.

Now then. Gather around kids, and behold the 2nd green, bottom right of image, leading to a launch pad looming high above the 3rd hole (left of image).

fXzUjYJ.jpg

I actually had planned for a different hole, but shrill and painfully unfunny ourbursts member's concerns about severe elevations earlier in this thread prompted me to engage into this form of punitive design. The green is 430y away and 60y deeper. At 1611 m ASL this hole will be a drive and a short pitch. For hacker players.

Quite a unique launch area, however, I am concerned about

overzealous and inebriated players tumbling, (Olympic reference),

to the approach.

Is that a herd of Tara's I see in between the holes?

I have read, and observed every post in "Show and Tell",

and I stand in awe of your design and storytelling capabilities,

and will never anticipate your next design move.

Exceptional forward thinking K, and almost on the verge

of an original thought. My last sentence is based from the

writings of Mark Twain, who states that there are no original

thoughts, and that everything one knows comes from the

outside, but you have found that boundary. Great Job!

Yes, every second full moon the Taras assemble into herds, drawn to each other by an unknown magnetism. It his believed to be somehow connected to mythical lay lines on the ground - and course designers aware of this strange, propitious gathering use the herding of Taras to pinpoint optimal tee off zones.

Tumbling golfers are indeed a concern... for golfers prone to tumble. For everybody else, golfers falling down a cliff are both funny and, in a weird sense, completely acceptable. Somebody has to try and create new footage for those many "Funniest Videos" shows that keep showing the same old clips again and again, so I'm not worried.

Not sure if "looking dope" is a good or a bad thing.

And Mark Twain was of course right: Everything that comes out must have somehow gotten in first. You can never have something out of nothing, so the first law of thermodynamics, or more specifically the law of conservation of energy, who knew, also applies to human thought. The originality of thought is a non-issue, as he states correctly. The connection of old and established concepts into a completely new (or rather: rare) idea is as good as it can possibly get. No boundaries were breached.

Is there any publisher around here who's interested into the book rights for Show & Tell?

Looking dope is a good thing, the peacemaker is looking sweeet, especially the super elevated tee.

K11,
Will you be sending updates via facebook, twitter, and snapchat as well? If so, i wont get them.
Will we find the final version on visionarygolf?

Thank you for clarifying. English not being my maternal language, I sometimes struggle with certain of its more recent colloquialisms. I will add "looking dope" to my vocabulary and use it myself if I wish to come across as super-cool and web-savvy. Hm, wait...

K11,

Sorry, no. I don't do these.

Will we find the final version on visionarygolf?

Highly unlikely.

I'm an 80's boy, and it's probably more of an 80's or 90's term.

As an FYI, I was extremely sarcastic about the social media updates.  We share a disdain for social media and believe it is a plague.

The stage has been arrived at where I can proclaim that the Peacemaker "Is beginning to look...". Find below my general colour scheme and mood studies. Still a lot to do, of course, but I will go for a remote bleakness in this "End of the World" style. No trees either - and aren't we all glad about that.

I've already test-played it several times. It's more benign that it looks like. For hackers.
