Terrain can be raised in front of the bunkers and that might help bring about a look closer to what you have posted there. Right now, I have an older version of Course Forge that does not have the vertical bunker wall tool; I can theoretically make a bunker look that way by making a sod wall as a 3D object, but it isn't very practical to do so.

And while the beta-testers beta-test, I felt like trying to turn the same course into a night-time affair:

FupWWn7.jpg

Which, of course, leads to problems. Many problems. The light spots are okay, because their distance is ranged. But each one cast shadows, each shadow requires additional draw calls, performance goes down the drain quickly.

hZWXTwJ.jpg

But even if success is not promised, it is well worth trying. So I'll be off for a little while, researching lightmaps on Unity, the process of creating and then baking them, and praying that the CF build will accept them... Or I could get pot bunkers and go about upgrading Black Swan...

Just killing time right now...

Will do, asap. Promised!

I also will upgrade the textures, get rid of the two small patches of terrain sticking through them at 16 and 18, re-visit the greens and fine-tune their contours, replant pin positions and perform a few tweaks on a few holes.

Any more improvement suggestions about Black Swan from anybody else are welcome here, will be read and possibly implemented, though I am not ready to compromise on design philosophy and layout - and will ignore all attempts at "designing by proxy" from backseat non-designers.

But, quadet63, I need pot bunker capability to set out on this task. The bad news is that I should be getting that... ..."soon".

k11,im sure whatever you decide to do with black swan ,will be great.allready a classic in my book, i play it every week.going to try  a BARE  round today, should prove intresting. What i would love to see is a sister course to the incredable Willow Heath, something like Willow Marsh,a marsh land type course, something along the lines of kiwa island.yes im dreaming, waiting patiently for CF.

Thank you very much for your kind words about my creations.

"Willow Marsh" should rather be named "Willow Fen" to stay with the ultra-british nomenclature that engendered the appellation "Heath". But I'm still on a round-trip across the world, sampling inspiration from unusual environments such as alpine valleys, french-polynesian archipelagos (not Hawaii!), prison yards and extraterrestrial planets. A return to the origins is unlikely at this stage, and my next project, "The Peacemaker" will, I'm afraid, never be suspected to be in a sisterly relationship with my first-born.

May CF come quickly to you - looking forward to your swamps, bogs, mires, quags, quagmires, sumps and sloughs.

Things coming along nicely.... I got my railway line, a rural Scottish highway, and the ruins of some kind of fortress. Now I just need pot bunkers.

I used EasyRoads and made a road the regular way, then swapped in a tiling railway texture.... setting the X and Y each to "2" produced two parallel tracks. Unfortunately it's not 3D; just a flat surface, but I have it set as out of bounds in the game anyway.

You can make 3D railways with EasyRoads but I think you need the pro version to do it.

The Peacemaker is indescribable, I'm afraid. But what little of it is slowly emerging, well, that can be shown. It is made to be feared and adored at the same time.

Work in progress.
