I've been away for what, 2 weeks and in this time you have become more prolific than a prolific thing, what with your 5 Sisters and your Mulligan Municipal and now see you are reaching for the Xanax.
p.s. how do you think PG plays on Mac OSX? I have just made a tentative trip to the Dark Side with a work purchase of a new 5K iMac and wondered about loading Steam and PG- I do have it Bootcamp'd to be able to run both OSX and Windows 10 Pro 64bit of course
Look who's poking his head back in... It's Xaxnax, not Xanax, which sounds like a drug, though I wouldn't know, let alone ever reach for it. Think "Sack Snacks", I'm already waiting for the first puns about that... most likely from South Carolina.
How do I think the PG plays on Mac OSX? Well, I can only tell you what I know how it plays. Not too good. It works alright, I'd say, but after one year of EA I'd say that ultras smooth graphics and high fps are more of an exception. Nigh unplayable without Pause Render on swing - I only experienced an exalted moment of good performance once, for about a couple hours, last autumn. Then they released a new patch and the magic went poof!
Don't get me wrong, that Mac of yours is a fabulous piece of gear that will do many other things very well. But if you want to experience PG in it's fullest glory, you should rather opt for a system that is not based on Mac or possibly Unix. The platform agnostics of PP are a bit windows-centric and Mac support is at best the very last item on a crazy-long list of priorities: They usually briefly involve a external Mac guy for a couple days every 3 months or so, that's the extent of it. You will be able to play PG, and you shouldn't have major problems. But you might encounter a handful of smaller ones.
These previews look great...
Kablamo,...I think your use of textures under the grass is great.
the tower seems like a distraction though
Rob
Almighty Rob, I must now dare to disagree with the Doctor himself. The radio tower is a positive and intended distraction, one that is well established in the game of golf and of impeccable repute as well. It can be seen from all across the course, and that is exactly the job I assigned it to perform: Such objects are also referred to as "landmark".
landmark
ˈlan(d)mɑːk/
noun
-
1.
an object or feature of a landscape or town that is easily seen and recognized from a distance, especially one that enables someone to establish their location.
"the spire was once a landmark for ships sailing up the river"
Just don't get too close, though. There's a bit of electrosmog. And to drive home my point, here's the official splash:
