20-30K does not seem bad at all. At least that seems manageable. Especially if the physics take them into account and the ball is impacted as it rolls from one to another. No doubt appreciate the venturing into the unknown and pushing the boundaries. Great stuff.

Thank you K11 and congratulations on 2000 posts in your S&M S&T thread. What will it reach when we have everyone creating and showing their courses?

The 9th Par 4 green will eventually
be a tricky half-way ending point.
Now if I can just get those tiki torches lit.

I know this has been asked and answered somewhere, but I can' find it. How do you adjust the settings for the Terrain (non spline) textures to get them to look like the rough that us used by the rough spline. For some reason my rough terrain texture is much brighter than the spline texture which looks just like it should.
My light settngs are set to Baked. Do I need to adjust the color to a lower number like I did for the spline textures.
Thanks for your help. Not sure what I am doing wrong to make something you make look so good on your courses look so bad on mine.

I encounter the same issue. I've had to color match. There's probably an easier way to do it, but I'm not sure what it is.

Tim, untick the Baked GI option in lighting. During building the course CF will retick it and add the appropriate settings automatically.
But that is not the reason for your terrain vs mesh issues. I have the same issue, too, always had it. In the Unityverse it's just not possible for the very same image to be displayed identically as a mesh and as a terrain texture. One reason for that is that the CF mesh also has an added .tga layer for the fine details and grass blades, which tends to make it darker so that the colour texture needs to be brighter. Terrain textures don't have that.
There is no easy way, I'm afraid. No button to click - and all is well (There never is). The only solution I have found is to use the same image for both and then to manually adjust (darken) the terrain texture in Photoshop until a reasonable match is achieved. Takes a few tries to get it right and the terrain texture will look frighteningly dark as a result, but match the meshes in your view.

Meanwhile, back at the International Boot Camp for Advanced, Applied Alpinism...
It's that time again: Delivery of the course furniture from Blammocorp HQ:
Rustic, sturdy, practical, unglamourous... All these objects come with brand names that might offend sensibilites, like feck dump, lube-pole and butt-plank, but I'd rather not say. Wait... oops.
Including a rain shelter cabin. Weather changes in the high mountains are potentially dangerous events, so best wuss out at the first sign of trouble and run frantically to seek refuge in our latest model, the Chicken Coop. No Hen Parties allowed inside.

Nice furniture, Throw a couple of stumps
in the coop for sitting, you could call them

Looking good K11.
A question for the AC3D users; does it make sense to import Sketchup models into AC3D with to purpose to export to fbx with texture atlas files?
Sketchup has such a vast amount of models but they usually comes with a bunch of separate textures.

AC3D can't export in .fbx formats, afaik, with only .obj (where textures need to be separate) being the one export format that Unity can work with.

Not enough information, Tim, I'm sorry. If PG crashes on your build, this seems to indicate that some wires got crossed in your project. Perhaps Mike's Debugging tut might be thing...
This being a public thread, please post your (completely legit) distress calls in the appropriate section of the private testers forum. I don't mind, this helps this thread nicely to get to 3K, but some of the "Release CF to the masses NOW!" folks might feel a bit irritated to learn that CF and Unity come with a smidgen of complexity and can be - at times - rather unforgiving if just a single detail happens to be a fraction out of kilter.

Haven't decided on a signature hole just yet
but I'm really starting to like the par 4 ninth.
It's a downhiller with a tight landing for those
that like to take chances.
