I installed it on an old XP system. I installed the no cd patch and when I started it says TW encountered an error and needs to close. Looks like something with the widescreen? Any help is appreciated. I got it open to the menu and clicked on play now and it loaded Cog Hill about half way and then crashes to the desktop.

You could try the universal widescreen patcher  https://www.wsgf.org...n-uniws-patcher

I played pretty much every version of TW until I moved to CustomPlay Golf with my friends. While it was fun back then it is so inferior to JNPG, I can't understand why any of you would want to play it especially when you have to pull epic tricks out of the book just to get it running on your machine.

I play it because it has a competitive career mode, yes PG is superior but playing solo rounds grew tiresome a long time ago.  I'm not saying 08 is now my go to game but i'm enjoying it as a short term distraction and i have no desire to play PG right now.  Imagine if PG had a career mode something like PGA 2000 where you could create your own roster and tour events, this would have been a great addition to PG, sadly omissions like this are common in today's games.  TGC tried a PGA tour mode but it was pathetic and half arsed, and if PG2 ever comes i cant see it having a career or editor and thats why i would not buy it.
