The par 3 one was so much fun for me. I think a full 18 would be even more creatively stimulating.
I think I may have suggested previously that one idea I had would be for everybody to use the same piece of land, perhaps a real lidar plot. The most rewarding fictional course for me that I've done was the one where I worked with a real plot; unfortunately I seem to have lost most of the files for that course. But the idea remains.
Once I get a new system up and running, another idea I have is to take a 9 hole track in my old hometown and try to turn it into an 18 hole course, within the confines of the actual plot and surrounding
You did do a great job on Standley Lake using a lidar plot.
I had just thought of letting everyone's creativity come out and they could use a real lidar plot (preferably not from a golf course BUT) or just use their own plot made from elevations. If you use one plot and many people decide to join a lot of golf courses will have that sameness because it uses the same plot everyone else has.
I had this Island plot (Ely Island on Lake Vermilion towards the Canada border) from lidar and i've always wanted to do something with it. I have no idea how big this island is though but it is a huge lake so this island must be big enough to support an 18 hole plot. It would be great if we could arrange something that many people could take part in. We could keep people updated in a thread with tiny teasers because who doesn't like seeing what's coming.
We could figure out something for prizes later if we knew we had people who were interested.
