I did some first tests with tiling the spline mesh from the first post here into 10 or 12 tiles. Took some bits from various tutorials. It's done quickly and all gets aligned perfectly. I don't know if I fractally subdivided less this time but standing on the first tee my fps increased about 10 while the 3d grass was even denser. I don't know if it's already because of the smaller mesh tiles as I placed no additional LODs so far. Have to do some more testing but looks promising.
