Well I just shot a nice 67 at Florida Glades in the PGLS Event and maybe if more were just playing the game and not worrying about what the future will hold we would all relax a bit.  The bottom line is when its ready it will be ready so we might as well just play and enjoy what we got till then.  As the saying goes you can only control what is front of you.

Some interesting opions here. No basis in fact but interesting anyways. AJ has been testing PG2 with a controller so that's already implemented in code....

Mike,

Recognize you and AJ are probably pretty well gagged with NDA's by TM in what you can and can't say about PG2.

However, in the absence of regular communication, rampant speculation will take its place.

Wish you could convince TM the value of regular updates to this passionate community.

Thanks for the update.

Agreed - What seems confusing to me, in the absence of actual information, is the relationship here.

Is PG2 going to exist alongside Trackman TPS 7 as a standalone product perhaps?

Like right now, the PG1 "game" that we all play has a re-skinned SIM GUI and is built right into the recently released TPS 6.

This is a relief to read... and this response answers two questions:  first and foremost, it's a second official statement that there is a PC version of PG2 in development, and secondly, that it will have controller support!

I have no doubt as to the veracity of Ian's response from Trackman, but IMO, it was a pretty non-committal reply.  The rep said "at the moment, we have no plans on releasing PG2 for PC"  They didn't say there wasn't a PG2 in development, they just said "at the moment" they have no plans on releasing it... meaning, they'll worry about release plans when they have a product to market.

In the absence of factual information, conspiracy and innuendo will run rampant.

Come to think of it, that pretty much describes society at large these days.

It would be kind of funny to learn that Mike or Andrew were actually also the ones responding on the Trackman FB account.

Just over there laughing their asses off at us running in circles over here.

(probably happening either way actually.. lol)

Sounds like a "no comment" reply to me. They aren't going to give any information out.

Some interesting opions here. No basis in fact but interesting anyways. AJ has been testing PG2 with a controller so that's already implemented in code....

While I appreciate Mike's response here, as well as AJ's comments earlier in the thread, this statement is still rather cryptic and leaves the reader still having to attempt to "read between the lines". Though AJ stated PG2 is being worked on, and Mike confirms that with his remark that AJ is testing PG2 with a controller, there is still no official word from Trackman, the new owner of the PG code, that a PG2 will be released for the PC market. The reply Ian received from the Trackman Facebook website merely confirms that at this time we do not know if PG2 is going to be made available for PC, or will end up only being available to the sim market. The fact that AJ is testing PG2 with a controller means the PG2 team wants there to be a PG2 for the PC, not there is going to be one.

I was encouraged by Andrews comments earlier. With the Facebook reply to Ian's query and now Mike's non-committal response as well, I'm back in limbo land as far as whether we will get a PG2 for the PC or not. This is in no way a condemnation of Mike or AJ. I realize their hands may be tied on what they are able to say or how much information they are allowed to give out.

The way I see this is: Trackman is happy to have PG and AJ, Mike and their team working away on the PG2 upgrade. This upgrade will be for the Trackman simulator market. They haven't decided if they will allow or put out PG2 for the PC user base at this time; it may not be in their best interest. We, the PC user group hoping for PG2, are still left wondering about it, and we may not get it. Rather disappointed that it looks like we will continue to have to wait for a definitive answer...

I take zero pleasure in posting a negative response to the info here; I will be very happy to be corrected or have my thoughts rebutted, and have AJ and/or Mike step in and simply say "Ken, I assure you that PG2 is coming for the PC, we just cannot say when yet, so be patient and just hang in there. It's on the way".

Wouldn't that be nice?

It's fun to speculate, so why not?  My reading of Andrew's post is that PG2 might well appear for PC in due course (else why bother to say anything at all here?) but that the simulator is the overwhelmingly main focus and a PC version, apart from better graphics and ball physics, will  probably be no closer to being a complete game than PG1.  Mike has already cast doubt on there being any animated golfers (even poor old Hacker Harry might be for the chop) and Andrew has just asked us not to even mention a career mode.  It will be a game geared to those who enjoy playing online tournaments.  The great majority of PC golfers play offline, however, and the prospects for them seem bleak indeed.

I think the misleader from Trackmans reply to Ian is:-

At the monent....

It would seem at the moment there is no intention as there is no game. I'm sure Andrew is more of a stand up guy than to mislead us. My guess the Trackman folks who deal with these enquiries are to totally simulator people and may not even be aware of what PP are working on outside of the PG2/Trackman partnership.

I think the Trackman response is relating solely to their simulator setup and not PP's version of the game using the same PG2 platform.

Typical flippant reply.  There are very little facts to go on because you guys refuse to comment and then when you do it's basically a non-comment.

As far as data points go - is it not pretty easy for you to see why folks would have some trouble connecting the dots between what TM has said versus what you and Andrew have said?  Unless you are here to clear the air it's probably best to continue not saying anything.  Just my $0.02.
